Unlock Vehicle Data with the OBD2 Interface for Dakota Digital Systems

The BIM-01-2 OBD-II (J1850/CAN) Interface serves as a direct link to your vehicle’s engine diagnostic port, enabling the extraction of crucial engine and transmission data directly from the vehicle’s computer, known as the ECM (Engine Control Module). This Interface Obd2 device is engineered to seamlessly transmit this collected information to Dakota Digital Instrument Systems*, providing a comprehensive overview of your vehicle’s performance.

For a wide range of vehicles (compatibility details below):***

  • Speedometer
  • Tachometer
  • Engine Temperature
  • Check Engine Indicator

Vehicle-specific data points:****

  • Intake Air Temperature
  • Transmission Temperature
  • Ambient Air Temperature
  • Gear Position
  • Oil Pressure
  • Boost Pressure

Enhanced vehicle monitoring with Dakota Digital BIM-01-2 OBD2 interface module.

It’s important to note that the availability of additional data such as Intake Temp, Transmission Temp, Ambient Air Temp, Oil Pressure, and Gear Position can vary based on the specific factory or aftermarket ECM installed in your vehicle. While this OBD2 interface is designed to access these parameters, Dakota Digital cannot guarantee the presence or accuracy of Coolant Temp, Intake Temp, Transmission Temp, Ambient Air Temp, Oil Pressure, Boost, or Gear Position readings. This is inherently dependent on the ECM’s capabilities and the presence of functional OEM sensors in your specific vehicle application.

*The BIM-01-2 interface obd2 is specifically engineered to decode data provided by the ECM through the OBD-II port. It then relays this information to GRFX, RTX, HDX, VHX, and VFD3 series instrument systems equipped with a black plastic control module. For BIM-compatible control boxes featuring a 3.5mm headphone jack BIM input, the 394194 adaptor harness (sold separately) is required. Please be aware that earlier instrument systems utilizing an aluminum control module are not compatible with BIM connectivity.

**This OBD2 interface, the BIM-01-2, supports J1850 and CAN OBD-II protocols exclusively. It is compatible with OBD-II protocols SAE J1850 VPW, SAE J1850 PWM, and ISO 15765 CAN 500k 11-bit identifiers adhering to the SAE J1979 PID protocol.

For any concerns regarding compatibility with your particular vehicle, we strongly encourage you to reach out to our sales or technical support department for assistance before purchase.

****Please be aware that GM Connect & Cruise packages do not transmit gear position data, which will prevent the BIM-01-2 OBD2 interface from acquiring and displaying this specific information.
