Finding the Right Chevy OBD2 Scanner for Your 1995 Model

Hey, today we picked up an obd2 scan tool. It’s a descent one. Well it was a relief to find that my 95 is running good. I did a full scan. No problems. And if you’ve seen my gallery at to what I had to do when I bought my truck it’s good to know it’s back together. Anyway. I verified that I DO have an OBD2 95 Jimmy. Not only did the scanner connect with my computer, but the manual also gave some info. In the engine compartment, located on the top of the radiator shroud is that sticker with the emissions information. There should be a spot on there that says OBD2 compliant. I know this is an issue with those of us that have 95’s. I had a 95 grand am that had one of those screwy quasi obd1.5 setups. But my 95 Jimmy is definitely an obd2 truck. I wish I could show you the sticker with the OBD2 Compliant tag from my truck. But when the front was smashed one of the things that was destroyed and I had to replace was the radiator shroud. And the only one I could find was from a 95 that wasn’t obd2. So I don’t have it on my sticker. But having the OBD2 connector isn’t for sure, because the computer could be in the dash, hence the obd1.5 model. So to be sure look on the emissions sticker on the upper radiator shroud and look in the upper right corner of the sticker, it should say OBD2 compliant. Then you know you’re good.
