ATLANTA, Ga. – Manheim, a leader in end-to-end wholesale vehicle solutions, is boosting transparency and buyer confidence by deploying Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) vehicle information at all of its LotVision-enabled locations across the nation. This significant upgrade, powered by Cox2m Obd2 technology, will cover approximately 80% of Manheim’s vehicle inventory in the second quarter, building upon the success of a pilot program in Texas and California. LotVision, known for its precise vehicle tracking, now provides an extra layer of crucial vehicle data.
LotVision, utilizing Cox2M’s commercial IoT expertise within Cox Communications, has been instrumental in helping dealers and transporters efficiently locate vehicles within auction lots, with accuracy down to 10 feet. This technology is now expanded, granting clients access to onboard diagnostic data directly from the LotVision platform at https://www.mymanheim.com/lotvision/. This integration of Cox2M OBD2 capabilities marks a significant step forward in vehicle information accessibility in the wholesale market.
With these enhanced features, Manheim is now offering the most comprehensive listing of generic DTCs in the industry. The system incorporates over 7,000 DTCs, standardized by the Society of Automotive Engineers, and provides real-time updates on system functionality. Clients can conveniently access a vehicle’s diagnostic data either on-site at the auction lot or remotely by simply searching for the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or work order number. This immediate access to diagnostic information empowers buyers to make well-informed purchasing decisions and plan for pre-sale repairs with greater accuracy.
The pilot program for this Cox2M OBD2 integration demonstrated strong adoption rates among sellers, with 93% participation at Manheim Dallas and 97% at Manheim Southern California. Feedback from these sellers highlighted a desire to be perceived as transparent and trustworthy. Crucially, buyer feedback confirmed the immense value of having diagnostic information readily available, directly contributing to smarter and more confident buying decisions. The availability of Cox2M OBD2 data through LotVision directly addresses the needs of both buyers and sellers in the wholesale automotive market.
“As Manheim continues to prioritize an improved and more connected client experience, providing essential information for informed buying and selling decisions is paramount,” stated Bob Grounds, Manheim AVP of Operational Excellence. “Expanding LotVision’s capabilities with Cox2M OBD2 technology is a critical advancement towards a more transparent and efficient marketplace.”
LotVision’s user-friendly interface and ability to expedite vehicle location have already made it the most visited page on mymanheim.com, with approximately 95% of users accessing it via mobile devices. The GPS tracking hardware, developed by Cox2M, positions Manheim as the largest commercial IoT deployment of its kind in North America, designed to support a vast network of connected devices across a wide geographical area. The integration of Cox2M OBD2 data further solidifies LotVision’s role as a central tool for vehicle information and management at Manheim auctions.
