Powersoft, a leader in amplifier technology, introduced in February 2013 DEVA, a groundbreaking Multimedia Unit designed to redefine outdoor audio-visual communication. This innovative device integrates solar power, bidirectional wireless A/V communication, intelligent lighting, and a high-efficiency Class D amplifier within a compact, weatherproof enclosure. DEVA stands out as a self-sufficient solution, eliminating the complexities of traditional installations and offering unparalleled versatility for a wide array of applications.
DEVA is engineered as a multifunctional multimedia unit, adept at delivering clear audio messages and capturing video, making it suitable for diverse operational needs. Equipped with an array of sensors, including a microphone, presence detector, twilight switch, and sensors for temperature, humidity, and pressure, DEVA is more than just an audio device. It’s a smart, responsive system. Furthermore, it includes integrated LED lights, enhancing its functionality beyond standard multimedia units.
Power efficiency is at the heart of DEVA’s design. Its low power consumption is meticulously engineered to ensure continuous operation using an internal rechargeable battery. Adding to its self-sufficiency, a next-generation solar panel efficiently recharges the battery, even in environments with limited sunlight. On a full charge, the multimedia unit can remain in standby mode for over 18 days. For continuous use, it offers up to 64 hours of audio playback, approximately 8 hours daily for over a week, or 20 hours of high-power white LED lighting.
The robust construction of the DEVA multimedia unit is highlighted by its IP65 rating. This weatherproof enclosure is specifically designed to shield the internal components from harsh environmental conditions, including temperature variations, humidity, and dust. This durability positions DEVA as an ideal multimedia unit for consistent outdoor performance. Connectivity is seamlessly integrated, allowing connection to control devices like tablets or smartphones, or to network-connected PCs. DEVA supports both wired (Ethernet) and wireless connections, including short-range options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and long-range GPRS, offering flexible control and integration possibilities.
The application range for DEVA is virtually limitless. From providing background music to managing public address systems, DEVA excels. It can also integrate video and audio surveillance capabilities, expanding its utility. With embedded standard Wi-Fi 802.11n communication and sustainable solar power rechargeable batteries, this multimedia unit operates independently of pre-existing infrastructures. This self-reliance significantly reduces installation costs and complexities, making DEVA a smart choice for locations where traditional systems are impractical.
Claudio Lastrucci, Powersoft’s R&D Director, emphasizes the unique vision behind DEVA: “With DEVA we wanted to do something a little different. We wanted to create a self-sufficient device that could be installed anywhere without the need for cables and with virtually zero installation costs. To be able to do this, every aspect of DEVA needed to be as efficient as possible – such as the battery, the LED, the loudspeaker – and naturally the Powersoft Class D amplifier.”
DEVA’s versatility makes it suitable for diverse locations such as theme parks, historical sites, public gardens, transport hubs, golf courses, swimming pools, beaches, construction zones, and parking areas. It addresses the challenges of sound distribution across large areas, especially where installation is restricted or communication infrastructure is lacking. Furthermore, the customizable molded plastic enclosure allows DEVA to blend seamlessly into any architectural setting.
Francesco Fanicchi, Powersoft’s Marketing and Communication Manager, encapsulates DEVA’s innovative spirit: “We would go so far to say if freedom had a name it would be called DEVA.” DEVA: Where technology meets imagination, offering a smart, sensory-rich, and aesthetically designed multimedia unit, unveiled at the ISE Trade Show in Amsterdam in January 2013, marking a new era in outdoor audio-visual solutions.
