Unlock Vehicle Performance Data with the OBD2 Interface

The BIM-01-2 Obd2 Interface is engineered to seamlessly connect to your vehicle’s diagnostic port, granting access to a wealth of engine and transmission data directly from the Engine Control Module (ECM). This powerful OBD2 interface is your key to unlocking valuable insights into your vehicle’s operation, feeding crucial information to Dakota Digital Instrument Systems*.

On most vehicles, the OBD2 interface provides universal data points including:

  • Speedometer
  • Tachometer
  • Engine Temperature
  • Check Engine Indicator

Furthermore, depending on your specific vehicle’s ECM and sensor configuration, the OBD2 interface may also offer access to vehicle-specific data such as:

  • Intake Air Temperature
  • Transmission Temperature
  • Ambient Air Temperature
  • Gear Position
  • Oil Pressure
  • Boost Pressure

It’s important to note that while the OBD2 interface is designed to capture a broad spectrum of data, the availability and accuracy of certain parameters like Intake Temp, Transmission Temp, Ambient Air Temp, Oil Pressure, Boost, and Gear Position are contingent on the ECM’s capabilities and the presence of functional OEM sensors. Dakota Digital cannot guarantee the availability of these vehicle-specific displays due to variations in factory and aftermarket ECMs.

*The BIM-01-2 OBD2 interface is compatible with GRFX, RTX, HDX, VHX, and VFD3 systems equipped with a black plastic control module. For BIM-compatible control boxes featuring a 3.5mm headphone jack BIM input, the 394194 adaptor harness is required. Please note that earlier instrument systems with an aluminum control module do not support BIM connectivity.

**This OBD2 interface is specifically designed for J1850 and CAN OBD-II protocols. It is compatible with OBD-II protocols SAE J1850 VPW, SAE J1850 PWM, and ISO 15765 CAN 500k 11 bit identifiers adhering to the SAE J1979 PID protocol.

If you have any concerns regarding the compatibility of this OBD2 interface with your vehicle, please do not hesitate to contact our sales or tech support departments for assistance.

***Please be aware that GM Connect & Cruise packages may not transmit gear position data, which will prevent the BIM-01-2 OBD2 interface from acquiring this specific information.
