OMD Group Reigns Supreme in RECMA Diagnostics Report for Unprecedented Eighth Year

NEW YORK, Nov. 8, 2024Omd Group, a leading global media network, has once again solidified its market dominance by securing the top position in the prestigious Network Diagnostics report from RECMA (Research Company Evaluating the Media Agency Industry). This marks the eighth consecutive time that OMD Worldwide, an Omnicom Media Group agency, has been recognized as the best-performing global media network in RECMA’s highly respected evaluation.

The bi-annual RECMA Diagnostics report serves as an industry benchmark, meticulously assessing 686 agencies across 45 markets. Going beyond simple financial metrics, RECMA’s evaluation employs 19 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to provide a comprehensive analysis of agency vitality and structure. These KPIs encompass crucial factors such as new business performance, client portfolio strength and stability, digital and data capabilities, content resources, and consistent performance across different geographic regions. Agencies are then ranked by “quali-points” and categorized into profiles ranging from Dominant to Average.

OMD Group’s consistent top ranking underscores its unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in the media landscape. This year’s report not only reaffirms OMD Group’s leadership but also highlights a significant widening of the gap between OMD and its closest competitors. In fact, the margin separating OMD from the second-ranked agency is almost double the spread between the agencies ranked second and eighth, demonstrating OMD’s clear and substantial lead in the global media network arena.

RECMA’s analysis further emphasizes OMD Group’s unique trajectory in the industry. Notably, OMD is the only agency among the top five from the 2021 report to have increased its quali-share over the past three years, while its direct competitors have experienced a decline. This consistent upward trend has led RECMA to reiterate its previous assessments from October 2023 and March 2024, stating definitively that “OMD has no direct competitor today” among global media agency networks. RECMA characterizes OMD Group as a “strong leader” that stands apart from the “tight 7-agency pack” vying for the subsequent positions. In their latest report, RECMA succinctly concludes that OMD’s performance is “confirming its leadership, far ahead of its direct competitors.”

A closer examination of the KPIs reveals OMD Group’s exceptional performance across key areas. OMD secured #1 rankings in critical categories such as competitiveness in new business pitches, digital, data & content resources, client profile quality, and network homogeneity across geographies. Regionally, OMD Group demonstrated its strength by achieving the #1 overall ranking in both EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and North America. Furthermore, OMD earned “Dominant” rankings in nine key local markets – more than any other network – including Australia, Germany, Greece, Italy, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Turkey, and the UK, showcasing its global reach and consistent high standards.
