To use Car Scanner, you’ll need an ELM327-based OBD2 adapter that supports WiFi or Bluetooth 4.0. Bluetooth 2.0 adapters are not compatible with iOS devices due to Apple restrictions. Recommended adapters include Kiwi 3, Viecar Bluetooth 4, V-Gate, Carista, LELink, Veepeak, and Konnwei KW903.
Beware of Budget Adapters: Be cautious of very cheap ELM327 adapters, particularly version 2.1, often from Chinese manufacturers. These may be unreliable and may not connect to your smartphone or vehicle properly.
