However, despite confirming a signal from the sensor, no obvious breaks or anomalies were detected in the audio output that would directly explain the ongoing issue. This is where an OBD2 scanner becomes particularly relevant in a modern diagnostic approach. While this manual testing provided valuable insights, an OBD2 scanner could have initially streamlined the process by:
- Reading Error Codes: A scanner would immediately identify any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) related to the wheel speed sensor or ABS system, providing a starting point for diagnosis.
- Live Data Monitoring: Scanners can display live data streams, including wheel speed sensor readings from each wheel in real-time. This allows for observing sensor behavior under various driving conditions without needing to disassemble interior panels initially.

In this particular case, even with manual testing, the exact fault remained elusive.
